Living in Boxes

We are so excited to have purchased our 1st home! It's not the dream house you're all assuming we bought, rather a 2 bedroom (soon to be 3 once we build before the baby comes...) condo that will soon become our own home!

When, you ask, are we moving? Well, that's a good question. If all had gone as planned, we would have moved in on Tuesday. If all was going as secondarily planned, we would be moving tomorrow. As of right now, the plan is to move next week. This is all due to the government loan we are receiving--which is a blessing to help us afford to break into the housing market, but the government likes to take their time doing their paperwork. They say it'll be sometime next week, but we're not sure yet which day. One annoying thing is that we keep having to reschedule our moving van, apartment move-out date, and gas & electricity turn-offs. Thanks to those who have offered help to move, clean, or babysit for us--we'll keep you posted as we find out more details.

September Stuff

It's been a fun month! It's hard to believe it's almost October once again. Here's a shot of the kids running in the sprinklers. They are so fun to watch and it reminds me of the good ol' days of childhood--it's like you really want to get wet, but it's surprisingly cold and suddenly scary the moment you try to enter the spray.

The kids took a cooking class this month. We made waffles and fresh orange juice, egg salad pitas and smoothies, and this week we made ravioli and salad. Allison isn't officially a part of the class, but she participates and has a great time.

I caught this precious father/son moment from our balcony. They were changing our oil together. Jacob loves helping his dad do everything.

Our big date together: the BYU/UCLA game at the Rose Bowl. It was a very fun game, even if the Cougars didn't quite pull together a win.

So Sweet

Who couldn't love this little angel?? Allison was so darling in her 18 month photo shoot. She knew all the attention was on her and she rose to the occasion. It was tough to decide which picture to choose--there were some good ones.

I know the "terrible 2's" are yet to hit, but right now I can say that I think this picture captures the essence of Allison: she's just so sweet.

#3

This is a new family portrait, by Jacob. First of all, I was so pleased with this drawing because he really has only scribbled up until now. This represents one of the first with recognizable figures. I love it.

Secondly, you'll notice it has 3 little smiling faces. If any of you didn't know, we are expecting a 3rd little one in our family in late February. So this drawing also acts as the first picture of our future family. I was very excited to have him explain it to me and point out the new baby he had drawn!
