Winter Getaway

We were lucky to be invited on a fun weekend trip to Mammoth to play in the snow! Our friends the Gredings have a cabin (although it's more like a nice "mountain home") there and it was perfect! We enjoyed playing with them and the Altoms in the snow, plus playing games, we LOVED having the kids entertain each other, and eating, lounging, talking, and staying up way too late.

I had a hard time narrowing down the pictures:

Jacob was quite good on the "snowboard" by the end of our trip!

Aren't these two darling?! They sat and ate snow together for a long time.

Play hard, sleep immediately, eat later. Way too much fun to handle.

So fun to hang out with friends!

Jacob spent some quality time with the Wii :) That's what he wants to save up for next. We'll see about that...maybe we'll just send him to the Gredings to get his fix.

Multi-tasking: playing the Wii while working on his surfing skills. He was pretty good at balancing.

Thanks for an awesome getaway! It was so nice to visit the snow, but then go home to warmer temperatures :)

To get this off of my to-do list

I'm just going to do it. No more putting it off. It's February and I am going to share our Christmas vacation in UT. So get ready for lots of pictures and captions....

On our way to Utah we wanted to do something different, so we stopped at Calico Ghost Town. We spent a few hours there and enjoyed the shops, going through a mine and a few buildings.

New pjs on Christmas Eve. Not your traditional formal shot, they were too excited to hold still.

Christmas morning at the Omers with the loot.

Another "Christmas morning" a few days later at the Tanners.

This was the cutest thing ever. We did a nativity at an extended family party with all of the great grandkids. Allison was the star, Gideon a wise man and Jacob the donkey. I loved how the little kids came in and kissed Jesus. Very precious and hilarious to watch!

Grandma & Grandpa Tanner took the kids sledding in the front yard. So exciting.

Fun with the cousins at the Tanner's...

...and at the Omer's

Tom & his dad and some brothers can always come up with a reason to sing together.

Saying goodbye to Grandma & Grandpa Omer.

We had the best Christmas! Definitely worth the drive. We loved being with our families and sharing in a special time of year.
